To ensure our permanence, in 2001 we began a $2 million campaign to create an endowment for our operations.
Recognizing that an important element in community is unity, the Vada Newland Family, Phil Johnson, John and Idamae Schack, Grace Bargreen Family, Nysether Family Foundation, Roy and Ann Thorsen Family, Don and Joyce Tisdel Family, and Harry and Jeanne Metzger Family, joined together to begin a new chapter in Snohomish County’s history.  These eight founders collectively contributed $2 million to create the Greater Everett Community Foundation Operational Endowment Fund.

As a result of their generosity and vision, the Greater Everett Community Foundation will be here forever, serving people throughout Snohomish County.  Our Operational Endowment over the last five years has grown to over $2.3 million AND has contributed over $360,000 to the operations of the Greater Everett Community Foundation.  This is the power of endowment!  

The prosperity of a community is anchored in its people—how they care, what they do, and how much they support one another.  The founding families of the Greater Everett Community Foundation share much in common.  Above all, they believe that Snohomish County is a wonderful place that they want to see grow and prosper for years to come.  Their stories reflect the values that will always guide our organization.
