Investment Summary

The primary investment objective of the Greater Everett Community Foundation is to preserve the real value (inflation adjusted) of current assets and future gifts.  Because the Foundation expects to operate in perpetuity, wise stewardship of the funds entrusted to it is essential to the Foundation’s mission.

The Foundation manages its endowed and operational assets, as well as custodial funds, according to guidelines established by the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.  Our allocation policy is designed to provide an optimal asset mix for the portfolio, emphasize diversification in order to lower risk and maximize “total return”.

The Foundation's investment goal is to earn an annual return of at least 7-9%, through a combination of appreciation and income.   Our average annual rate of return over the last eight years is 7.24%.

Harbour Investment Management and Wells Fargo Private Banking function as our investment consultants to provide oversight, guidance, design and implementation of the Greater Everett Community Foundation portfolio. The Foundation also utilizes local banks for certificates of deposit when appropriate.
